Truth Perfume – 3.4 Oz Eau De Parfum Spray
$75.00
Truth by Calvin Klein for Women (Launched in 2000)
Fragrance Family: Fresh / Green
Scent Type: Fresh Woody-Green Aromatic Truth is a clean, transparent, and very natural-smelling fragrance that feels like a walk through damp grass and wet woods after rain. It was created by perfumers Alberto Morillas, Jacques Cavallier, and Thierry Wasser with the intention of capturing the sensation of “truth” through purity, freshness, and simplicity.
Key Notes:
- Top notes: Lemon, Bergamot, Bamboo, Clover, Wet Grass, Vetiver
- Heart notes: Lily of the Valley, Peony, Mimosa, Silkwood Blossom, White Freesia, Acacia
- Base notes: White Amber, Vanilla, White Musk, Sandalwood
The fragrance opens with a burst of crisp, citrusy green notes—think freshly cut grass mixed with bamboo and a touch of lemon. The heart is delicately floral and dewy (lily of the valley and peony dominate), giving it a soft, “just-showered” femininity. The dry-down is warm but still clean, with creamy vanilla, soft woods, and a lingering clean-musky skin scent.
Suggested Use:
- Perfect for daytime and warm weather (spring and summer)
- Ideal for office or casual settings where you want to smell fresh and unobtrusive
- Great “clean laundry / fresh-out-of-the-shower” signature scent
- Works beautifully as a layering fragrance (pairs especially well with richer vanillas or musks if you want more warmth)
- Unisex-leaning despite being marketed to women—many men love and wear Truth for its crisp vetiver-grass accord
Overall vibe: Calm, serene, honest, and effortlessly natural. It’s minimalist, transparent, and one of the best “green fresh” fragrances ever made in designer perfumery. Sadly discontinued, but still widely available online (especially the EDP version). If you love clean green scents like Chanel Chance Eau Fraîche, Hermès Un Jardin sur le Nil, or Philosophy Pure Grace, Truth will feel very much at home in your collection.
Application basics:
- Apply to pulse points where your body generates heat: wrists, neck, behind ears, inner elbows, and chest. The warmth helps diffuse the scent throughout the day.
- Spray from about 6-8 inches away for even distribution.
- Apply to clean, moisturized skin—fragrance lasts longer on hydrated skin.
How much to use:
- Less is more. Start with 2-3 sprays and adjust based on the fragrance's strength.
- For eau de toilette (lighter), you might use a bit more; for eau de parfum or parfum (stronger), use less.
Timing:
- Apply right after showering when your pores are open.
- Don't rub your wrists together after spraying—this breaks down the fragrance molecules.
Making it last:
- Layer with unscented or matching lotion first.
- Store bottles in cool, dark places away from direct sunlight and heat.
- Avoid spraying on clothing as it can stain and the scent won't develop properly (though some people do this intentionally for longer-lasting wear).
General etiquette:
- The scent should be discovered, not announced—people should only smell it when they're close to you.
- Be mindful in enclosed spaces like offices or public transport.
